38-Hour Course Details & Requirements

The class is divided into 2 portions: in-class and Behind the Wheel (BTW).

There are age requirements for both portions.

Students must have a T.I.P. Card from the Office of Motor Vehicles (for more information on obtaining a T.I.P. Card CLICK HERE.)

Students must be at least 14 years and 9 months of age (14¾) to be eligible for the in-classroom portion of the course and no older than 17. (18+ Click Here)

Students must be at least 15 years of age to be eligible for the behind-the-wheel portion of the class. Students under the age of 15 may still enroll in the in-class portion of the course but must wait until they are 15 or older to schedule driving time with a Behind-the-Wheel Instructor.

Any minor student must be in the 8th grade or higher.

The BTW portion will be scheduled for the following business days until all students have completed the required hours.

Upon completion of the student of the 38 hours course, the school shall provide one original and one additional Certificate of Successful Completion.

"KNOWLEGE TEST" PREPARATION

At Hinton Driving Academy, we're committed to your success on the Knowledge Test. We equip you with the essential tools for a confident drive, including a printed copy of the Louisiana Driver's Guide, engaging classroom activities, and access to additional study materials. Our goal is to make sure you're well-prepared and road-ready.

Your tution covers 2 attemts at the knowledge test.

So, don't worry if you don't ace it on the first try – we're here to support you every step of the way!

8-Hours of Behind-the-Wheel Training

At Hinton Driving Academy, our Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) training is designed to build your confidence behind the wheel. Our 8-hour BTW program is split into 2-4 hour increments, covering a variety of road types, including rural roads, city streets, highways, and interstates. With expert guidance and real-world experience, we ensure you're well-prepared for any driving scenario.

Behind-the-Wheel Assesment

When it comes to the Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Assessment at Hinton Driving Academy, you've got two attempts included in your tuition. Our goal is to help you succeed and build the skills you need to become a confident driver.

So, don't worry if you don't ace it on the first try – we're here to support you every step of the way!

DRIVING SIMULATION TRAINING

Experience a 30-minute driving simulation training session as part of your comprehensive tuition at Hinton Driving Academy. This hands-on practice allows you to get comfortable behind the wheel in a controlled environment, building confidence before you hit the road. It's all about giving you the skills you need to become a safe and capable driver.

CPR / BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING FOR STUDENT + PARENT

At Hinton Driving Academy, safety is paramount. That's why we offer complimentary CPR and Basic Life Support training sessions for our students within a calendar year of thier Driver's Education, provided by Stick It Phlebotomy.

Plus, immediate parents and guardians can join in at a 50% discounted rate. It's all part of our commitment to preparing you and your loved ones for any situation on the road
