The Process - start to finish

We want to meet you and discuss your goals with our company. Becoming a Driver's Education Instructor is a process and it isn't for everyone. Let's sit down and see where your skills could be most useful.

Below is a link for the OMV Application. The most important thing to remember here is to HAND SIGN the second page of the OMV application and bring it in or email it back to our office. 

To work for the HDA you must submit to an FBI Criminal Background Check. I will handle all the paperwork, all you need to do is go out and get 2 fingerprint cards. We like to use the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on Farmerville Highway.  

The total fees for this step equal $59.25. Please let us know if you would like to purchase the money orders from us or if you would like the fees to be automatically deducted from your first paycheck.

Below is a link for the Criminal Background Check Authorization Form. 

This form needs to be downloaded and hand signed. The original document needs to be returned to The Hinton Driving Academy. 

All instructors will need to complete a 30-Hour Training Course with the HDA to be licensed officially. This training will include:

1. 30-Hour Driver's Education Couse
2. BTW Instruction
3. Sexual Harassment Seminar Training
4. CPR / BLS / Heart Saver Certification
5. Training with TCU in Baton Rouge (via Zoom)

Employees will be paid a training wage during the training phase.

If customers can’t find it, it doesn’t exist. Clearly list and describe the services you offer. Also, be sure to showcase a premium service.

Select "Book Appointment" and select "DL upgrade" after finding the closest DMV to you.

Here is the range you can expect to pay for your renewal fees.  

Class D (Chauffeurs)  Standard: $54.75 – $60.75  

New Orleans Rate: $66.00 – $72.00  

If you are over 70: $34.13 – $40.13  

If you are over 70 in New Orleans: $39.75 – $45.75  Add $12 for MC endorsement

Add a $15 late fee if expired over 10 days  

Class E (Personal)  Standard Rate: $32.25 – $38.25

If you are over age 70: $18.75 – $24.75  

Add a $15 late fee if the license is expired over 10 days
